Best Stand Mixer For Dough

 Best Stand Mixer For Dough

It's important to look at the different types of dough mixers before you settle on one to purchase. There are basically two types: heavy duty and light. Each type has pros and cons. You can go heavier or lighter depending on your needs.

KitchenAid Artisan Series Stand Mixer - This is perhaps the most known brand. It comes with a dough hook, which allows you to knead small amounts of dough without a bowl. The Artisan series stand mixers also have heavy duty belts that make for a solid base for dough. The KitchenAid Artisan Series also includes an eight-hour warranty, so it is well built and very dependable.

Cuisinart Artisan Series II Best Stand Mixer - This stand mixer has a plastic bowl that is very lightweight and durable. It is not dishwasher safe but a canister design that can be easily taken out for cleaning. The Cuisinart Artisan II also comes with a dough hook that makes it very easy to make dough. Like the KitchenAid Artisan, the II comes with a long eight hour warranty and a heavy duty belt. This is perhaps the best all around dough hook available.

KitchenAid Artisan Series III - This mixer has all of the same features as the II but with a three-quart bowl that are more useful than the II's smaller bowl. A great feature that sets the III apart is that there are six separate testers that allow you to knead just about anything, including hard dough. Another great thing is that there is a heated feet plate so you don't need a heated bowl. The heating feet plate allows your dough to rise at its own pace so that you can make delicious bread. With a one year warranty and two-year restricted warranty, this is a very dependable machine.

Cuisinart Artisan Series IV - This stand mixer has a heavy-duty five-quart bowl. Unlike the other series, the IV offers a heavy duty eight quart bowl with a nonstick surface. If you want a heavy duty stand mixer with a cast iron bowl, then the VI is not for you. However, if you want a bowl that will cook evenly and hold ingredients comfortably, then this is the best choice. With a limited warranty and a limited amount of testimonials, this is probably the best stand mixer available. There are four users of the IV model and only two of them have had any type of problem with the appliance.

Cuisinart Artisan Series V - The Series V is the most popular stand mixer and is generally considered one of the best on the market. The biggest difference between this model and the rest is the fact that there are two different bowls on the machine. The bowl on the Series V is wider so it comes in handy for dough that needs to be rolled out. One of the unique features of the this mixer is that it also has a tapered edge on the bottom which is great for whipping and mixing as well.

Cuisinart Stand mixer with testers - It is probably the most widely used of all the stand mixers and is highly recommended. The tester on the stand comes as a standard with almost every machine and allows you to check the quality of the ingredients before you begin working. There are a couple of different testers on the market, but if you want a specific Cuisinart product that doesn't have a tester's program, then you can always get a box of the special testers that the manufacturer offers.

The standard sizes of all the stand mixers mentioned above should be adequate for creating dough for most professional pastry chefs. However, if you have never created dough of a very high quality, then you may want to invest in one of the larger models. If you're not sure which one to buy, then take a look at the video reviews of some of the larger models. There you can find many professional reviews of the Cuisinart bread machine models available.
